The officers involved in last week’s shooting in Jones County have been identified.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety says officers responded to a 911 call of a firearms complaint from 9073 County Road E-45 south of Wyoming last Monday night, September 21st. Deputies from Jones and Delaware County Sheriffs’ Departments responded, along with an Iowa State Patrol trooper. They encountered 51-year old James Bartram of Wyoming, who was brandishing a gun.
State Trooper Tyler Remley and Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputy Clayton Miller both fired their weapons, hitting Bartram in the upper torso. Bartram was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Both Trooper Remley and Deputy Miller are on paid administrative leave pending the investigation.
