You can enjoy a moonlight kayak paddle in Buchanan County tonight.
The hour-long paddling event will begin at 6:30 pm at the Wapsipinicon Access in Independence.
Paddlers will see some animals settling in for the night and others just becoming active. A Buchanan County Conservation Board Naturalist will be there to guide you along the way. And there is a full moon tonight, providing the perfect backdrop.
The kayak, life vest and instruction will be provided, with a fee of five dollars per person. Anyone ten and older is welcome to participate and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Pre-registration is required – go online to buchanancountyparks.com and click on “Public Events”.
