Delaware County now has the second highest COVID-19 positivity rate in the state.
As of Thursday afternoon, the Iowa Department of Public Health reported the county’s rate at 21.8% – second only to Harrison County, which is at 24.6%. All other surrounding counties – Dubuque, Clayton, Fayette, Buchanan, Linn and Jones – remain under the 15% threshold, with Dubuque County at 14.4%.
Since Monday, Delaware County has also lost four more residents to complications of COVID-19 – that brings the county’s death toll due to the virus to twelve.
