Hein Looking Forward to Another Term in Iowa House

State Representative Lee Hein has been re-elected to another term in the Iowa House.

Hein, a Republican farmer from Monticello, has held the District 96 seat since 2011. He defeated Democratic challenger Everett Chase with 70% of the vote.

It was pretty much a red wave across eastern Iowa on Tuesday night, with Joni Ernst winning re-election in the U.S. Senate, Ashley Hinson unseating incumbent Congresswoman Abby Finkenauer and Dan Zumbach winning re-election in State Senate District 48.

Hein says he’s looking forward to getting another opportunity to serve – and they’ll start getting to work as soon as next week.

What the Iowa legislative session will look like this year because of COVID is anyone’s guess…

And Hein’s not the only one in his family who won an election Tuesday night… his daughter-in-law, Whitney Hein, won the Jones County Auditor’s race, so he says it looks like the next generation is getting involved in public service too.
