Volunteers in Manchester are once again organizing an effort to fill Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes again this year.
Operation Christmas Child provides shoeboxes filled with small gifts to children in need across the world. Stephanie Stocks explains:
Anyone can fill a shoebox. Stocks says all kinds of items can go inside.
The shoeboxes can be dropped off at Manchester United Methodist Church all this week, with next Monday, November 23rd the last day to drop off. You can find a list of drop-off times on the Samaritan’s Purse website. And with COVID this year, they’re offering a curbside drop-off too.
This is the 10th year Manchester United Methodist Church has served as a Delaware County drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child. Their volunteers have helped collect over 11,000 boxes in the previous nine years – they’re hoping to collect 2,020 boxes this year to remember the year 2020 in a positive light.
