Delaware County Putting Annex Renovation on Hold

Delaware County is putting the Annex renovation on hold.

The County purchased the former Community Savings Bank building last year for just under 600-thousand dollars. Since then, they’ve called the building the “Annex”, with plans to renovate the building into office space for the Delaware County Treasurer’s and Auditor’s offices, as well as room for the county’s voting equipment and office space for Delaware County Economic Development and Delaware County Tourism. The County Supervisors had expected the construction bids to come in around $500,000 to $700,000, but upon opening the six bids on Monday, they were much higher than expected – around one million dollars. So they unanimously chose to reject all six bids and put the project on hold. Supervisor Jeff Madlom:

The County Supervisors say they will table the Annex renovations for now and take time to re-evaluate the situation.
