Cedars for Celebration Event at Osborne Pond

If you’d like to help improve habitat and spruce up your holiday décor, come out to the Osborne Pond south of Elkader on Saturday and pick out an Eastern red cedar tree to take home.

Clayton County Conservation is holding their “Cedars for Celebration” event at Osborne Pond on Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm.

Clayton County Conservation Board staff will be on hand to help identify and select trees. The CCCB will provide handsaws or you may bring your own. They’ll also have twine to help secure the tree, but you’re encouraged to bring your own rope or lashing material to get your tree home. Gloves are also recommended.

The trees are free, but a donation of ten dollars or more is appreciated to go towards further habitat restoration efforts.
