The West Delaware Boys Basketball team suffered their first loss of the season in tough fashion with a non-conference defeat inside Seedorff Gymnasium to Class 4A Dubuque Senior last night, 63-62. The Hawks fell behind early trailing 7-0 and then by as much as 13 in the first quarter. They were down by 12 at the half. They took the lead for the first time with 2 minutes to go in the third period, 2 more lead changes and 5 ties ensued until the final seconds of the game. The Rams had the last second shot opportunity with under 10 seconds remaining and a 25-footer off the hands of Cain McWilliams banked in to win it as the horn sounded. Kyle Kelley led the Hawks with 24 points, 11 for Eric Salow, Logan Woellert with 10, 9 for Blake DeMoss, Mitch Krogmann with 5 and 4 for Luke Kehrli. The Hawks at 2-1 will travel to Van Horne taking on Benton Community Friday night.
