A motorcycle driver was injured after a pursuit in Delaware County on Thursday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol tells KMCH that a trooper tried pulling over a motorcycle for a traffic stop in the westbound lanes of Highway at the Highway 13 interchange.
The State Patrol says the motorcycle did not stop, with the male driver fleeing eastbound on Highway 20 back to the Delaware interchange and then back westbound on Highway 20 to Manchester. The driver then fled north on Highway 13 to 165th Street north of Manchester. The driver then lost control and went into the ditch.
The driver suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. His name is being withheld until family members have been notified.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Manchester Police Department, RMC Ambulance and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics AirCare.
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the crash, with charges pending.
