Manchester once again has a redemption center in town.
The Can Shed opened last Thursday in the former Can-Do location on the east end of town. And after several months without someplace to redeem cans, the community is feeling grateful to have the service back locally.
And owner and CEO Troy Willard says they’re happy to be here.
Willard says they decided to open a location in Manchester for a couple reasons.
The Can Shed will accept all brands of aluminum cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles – anything that is alcoholic or carbonated that has a deposit on it – and then you’ll walk out with your five-cent deposit. And while their first day last Thursday wasn’t very busy, he says the customers who have come in have been bringing in a lot of cans.
And The Can Shed is willing to partner with local non-profits on can drives too.
The Can Shed is open Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm.
Their policies can also be found on their website at canshed.com.
