Delaware County COVID-19 cases have gone up slightly this past week, while the positivity rate has gone down.
Delaware County Public Health announced Monday morning that the county has 165 active cases – that’s eight more cases than last Monday.
The county’s positivity rate is currently at 12% – that’s 1.6% lower than a week ago.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says Delaware County has reported 1,728 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last April – that’s over ten percent of the county’s population.
One more resident has died this past week due to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths in Delaware County to 36. Two residents are currently hospitalized.
More than 1,500 Delaware County residents have recovered from COVID.
Nearly 800 Delaware County residents have been vaccinated.
Delaware County Public Health is asking everyone to continue being part of the solution in slowing the spread – avoid large gatherings, keep six feet distance from others, wash your hands, wear a face mask in public and stay home when you are even mildly sick.
