The number of active COVID-19 cases has gone up slightly in Delaware County this past week.
Delaware County Public Health announced Monday morning that the county has 179 active cases – that’s 14 more cases than last Monday.
The county’s positivity rate has stayed steady this past week at about 12%.
The Iowa Department of Public Health says Delaware County has reported 36 new cases this past week – bringing the total number of cases to 1,764 since the pandemic began last April. Over ten percent of Delaware County’s population has now tested positive.
No deaths due to the virus were reported this past week in Delaware County. Four residents are currently hospitalized.
Nearly 1,600 Delaware County residents have recovered from COVID.
More than 900 Delaware County residents have been vaccinated.
