The West Delaware Hawk Boys improved their record to 9-8 and 3-5 in East Division WaMaC Conference play with a 83-56 win over Maquoketa inside Seedorff Gymnasium. The quick moving game featured 3 lead changes and no ties. The Hawks led by as much as 31 points in the second half. WD set a program record with 16 three-pointers made. Kyle Kelley paced the Hawks with 21 points, he was one of four who scored in double digits. Blake DeMoss had 20, 12 for Luke Kehrli and Logan Woellert with 11.
The WD girls fell to the Cardinals 43-37.
The Beckman girls upset Solon 58-52, the Blazer boys lost to the Spartans 38-36.
Independence’s girls were beaten 67-31 by Benton Community, the Mustang boys defeated the Bobcats 56-39.
In the TRC-
North Linn’s girls clipped Springville 64-62 and the Lynx boys beat the Orioles 69-59
The East Buchanan girls lost to Central City 42-34.
Ed-Co’s girls lost to Alburnett 62-32, the Ed-Co boys beat the Pirates 59-43.
The Class 2A No. 1 Maquoketa Valley Wildcats improved to 19-0 with a 69-6 victory over Starmont.
In the RVC-
The Anamosa boys topped North Cedar 75-58.
Monticello outlasted Northeast 40-27 on the boys side and the Panther girls won 71-38.
The West Delaware girls and boys bowling teams returned to the lanes at May City Bowl in Cedar Rapids. The Hawk girls beat Monticello 2614 to 1856. The WD boys took down the Issac Newton Christian Academy 3100-2122 but fell to Monticello who rolled a 3173.
