In high school girls and boys basketball from last night:
The West Delaware Hawks girls and boys fell on the road at Marion in close fashion. Girls 44-40 and the Boys 58-53.
The Beckman girls beat CP-U 45-42 while the Beckman boys won in overtime, 54-50.
The Maquoketa Valley Girls won 52-33 over Springville. The Wildcats end the season at 20-0, the first undefeated regular season since the 2011-12 Wildcats team went 21-0. It’s the 7th season since 2010 that MV has won 20 games or more. The Maquoketa Valley boys lost to Ed-Co 53-33.
North Linn’s girls topped Alburnett 67-44 while the boys defeated the Pirates 59-37.
The Ed-Co girls beat Starmont 42-26, the Starmont boys lost to East Buchanan 55-38
The Monticello boys edged Camanche 34-33 to improve to 17-0 as the third-ranked team in Class 3A.
Anamosa boys beat Tipton 54-33.
Cascade boys were clipped by Northeast 33-30
The Independence boys took down South Tama 52-37.
The Western Dubuque boys picked up a non-conference win over CC-A, 68-52. The Bobcat girls lost in Cedar Rapids to Prairie 48-28.
