A burglar was arrested after a two-county chase in northeast Iowa last Thursday.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 43-year old Bryan Rodas of Westgate broke into a home in Westgate and stole several firearms. He was later located in Waterloo at the Isle Casino, where authorities tried stopping his vehicle, which led to a chase on Highway 20 through Black Hawk and Buchanan counties.
Several agencies were involved in the chase and Rodas was taken into custody.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office seized the vehicle he was driving and conducted a search warrant on it. Several guns, money and methamphetamine were recovered during that search.
Rodas faces charges of First Degree Burglary, Stalking, Possession of Methamphetamine and two counts of Violating an Order of Protection. If convicted, he could face over 30 years in prison.
