Both the West Delaware and Western Dubuque school districts are holding special elections next week.
West Delaware is asking voters to approve a $20 million general bond issue to provide funds to remodel, repair and improve the high school, middle school and Lambert Elementary buildings.
Western Dubuque is asking voters to approve continuing to levy an annual physical plant and equipment levy not to exceed to one dollar per thousand dollars of assessed valuation in any one school year for a period of ten years.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail was last Friday. But people can vote in person at the Auditor’s Office through March 1st.
The polls will be open next Tuesday, March 2nd from 7 am until 8 pm. Precincts in Delaware County are being consolidated for these elections.
All Western Dubuque voters in Delaware County will vote at the Earlville Civic Center.
And there will be four consolidated precincts open for the West Delaware special election:
Precinct #1 will be at the Ryan City Hall Center for West Delaware voters in living in the Adams Township or Hazel Green Township.
Precinct #2 will be the Manchester Fire Station for West Delaware voters living in Manchester Ward 1, Manchester Ward 2, and Oneida Township.
Precinct #3 will be Seibert Park Memorial Hallfor West Delaware voters living in Manchester Ward 3, Delaware Township, Elk Township, Honey Creek Township, Milo Township, and Prairie Township.
Precinct #4 will be the Dundee Community Center for West Delaware voters living in Coffins Grove Township, Richland Township and Fremont Township.
