A child was injured after being hit by a vehicle in Peosta on Monday.
It happened on Peosta Community Parkway around 5 pm. Peosta Police Chief Mike Comer says a 10-year old child ran from a parked vehicle into the road and was struck by a northbound car.
The child was transported to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and then transported to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for further treatment.
The driver of the car, 18-year old Camdyn Penick of Franklin Grove, Illinois, was not hurt.
The accident remains under investigation.
