Starting with Track and Field results from last night:
The 25th annual Ken Fearing Relays took place in Anamosa with 16 teams paticipating. Marion won it with 113 points, the host Blue Raiders were 2nd with 102, 3rd with 78 was Monticello, Cascade was 4th with 65, Maquoketa Valley 10th with 32, West Delaware was 11th with 27 points, 14th was Midland with 1 point.
Ed-Co hosted their annual invitational. Wapsie Valley was first with 96.75, the host Vikings were 3rd with 86. Seventh was North Linn with 48.75, Beckman 8th with 48, 11th was Starmont with 31, 12th was East Buchanan with 25.50, Central Elkader was 15th with 8 points.
Dubuque Senior hosted the Tri-State Invitational. Cascade was 2nd, Monticello 8th, West Delaware 11th and Western Dubuque 12th.
In Jesup, Starmont took 2nd to South Winn by just 1 point- 106 to 105. Maquoketa Valley was 3rd with 84, North Linn had 80 in 4th, Ed-Co 7th and East Buchanan 8th.
Western Dubuque fell to Hudson 5-4.
Beckman was clipped by Clear Creek-Amana 2-1.
The Cascade program in its first match ever got a victory at home as they downed Tipton 7-1.
Beckman shutout CC-A 2-0.
West Delaware was blanked by Vinton-Shellsburg 14-0.
Western Dubuque lost to Cedar Rapids Xavier 10-0.
The West Delaware Girls opened up against South Tama and had a team score of 199, the Lady Trojans did not field a full squad. Individually for the Hawks, Mia Peyton led the way with a 45, 47 for Ella Koloc, Emma Hogan with a 53, 54 for Haley Hamm, 61 for Kennedy Klostermann and 62 for Morgan Collier.
The Maquoketa Valley Boys beat North Linn out at Hart Ridge. The Wildcats had 202 to the Lynx 223. Isaac Zirtzman was the medalist with a 37. A 50 for Preston Roling, 55 for Tate Monk and 60 for Jackson Hunter. Henry Schmidt led North Linn with a 48.
On the Girls side, neither team was complete. Madeline Gellerson shot a 57, Jordyn LeGassick with a 58. Sydney Smock and Maddie Stepanek had 57’s for the Lynx while Amber West had a 58.
Girls Golf at Winthrop – East Buchanan scored a 254, Starmont did not have a team score
Medalist–Mariah Burlington of EB with a 54
On the Boys side at Winthrop
East Buchanan topped Starmont 161-223. Medalist was Trey Johnson of East Buchanan with a 33.
The Monticello Boys topped North Cedar in Lowden 159-184. Medalist was Justin Recker with a 37; Connor Lambert contributed a 39.
The Monticello Girls defeated North Cedar 219 to 234.
