Anamosa Hosting RAGBRAI Kickoff Party

Anamosa will be holding a RAGBRAI Kickoff Party tonight.

The Jones County community is preparing to be an overnight stop on this year’s bike ride across Iowa. They were actually named one of the seven stops for the 2020 RAGBRAI, which was cancelled due to COVID – so Chamber Director LeeAnna Boone says they’ve had quite some time to plan.

RAGBRAI riders will be making their way into Anamosa on Thursday, July 29th after an overnight stop in Waterloo. They’ll spend the night before heading out of town the next morning for DeWitt. Boone says having the opportunity to host thousands of visitors is something Anamosa businesses are welcoming with open arms.

And tonight, there will be an Anamosa RAGBRAI Kickoff Party at the Wapsipinicon Country Club starting at 6 pm. It’s free for everyone to attend – and Boone says you’ll have the chance to learn a little more about the big event.

And volunteers are needed – so if you’d like to get involved with Anamosa’s RAGBRAI overnight stop, give the Chamber at call at 319-462-4879, message the Anamosa RAGBRAI 2021 Facebook page or stop into the Chamber office.
