Manchester Police Chief Denounces TikTok Videos Promoting Sexual Assault

A popular social media app known for its dancing trends and fun videos took a dark turn this week.

The Manchester Police Department has been made aware of recent videos on TikTok designating this Saturday as a “national day” to carry out rape and sexual assault.

Police Chief Jim Hauschild says the videos have gone viral – and he wants people to know this is not legit.

While Chief Hauschild doesn’t believe there is a substantiated threat to the Manchester community from these TikTok videos, he would like to offer some tips to help you and your loved ones stay safe any day of the year.

And Chief Hauschild wants to remind everyone that sexual assault is never the fault of the victim – the perpetrator is always at fault. He says you will never be faulted for reporting an unsafe situation.

You can reach Manchester Police at 927-3355 or the Riverview Center at 1-888-557-0310.
