Florence M. Ives, 87, of Quasqueton, IA died on April 25, 2021 at Lexington Estates in Independence, IA.
Florence was born on April 18, 1934 in Walker, IA, the daughter of Arthur J. and Verna E. (Wright) Workman. She grew up in rural Quasqueton and attended the Independence Community Schools. While she was in high school, she worked at her family’s grocery store in Independence. She later worked at Microswitch in Independence. In 1950 she married James Scott in Rowley, IA, together they had a son, Jim Scott Jr. They made their home together in rural Independence, IA, until their divorce in 1966. Florence started working at Rockwell Collins, Cedar Rapids, IA in the late part of 1966. She remarried in 1969 to Duane Kress in Galena, IL. Together they made their home in Quasqueton, IA and had a son, Duane Kress, and divorced in 1976. On August 4, 1990 Florence married Ronald Ives.
Florence enjoyed spending time with her friends socializing. They would often go to casinos and to garage sales together.
She is survived by her two sons, James (Marilyn) Scott, Independence, IA, and Jeff (Kate) Kress, Quasqueton, IA, four grandchildren, Missy (Steve) Schmaltz, Prior Lake, MN, Joni Stoner, Independence, IA, Brett Scott, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Dylan Kress, Quasqueton, IA, six great grandchildren, a sister Eileen Long, Winthrop, IA, and many nieces and nephews.
Florence is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Verna Workman, her husband Ronald Ives, and a brother, Archie Workman.
A visitation will be held from 4 PM until 7 PM on Thursday April 29, 2021 at the Reiff Family Center – Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, IA. A private Funeral Service will be held at a later date.
