The canine member of the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department is now a little more protected on the job.
K9 Bane has received a bullet and stab protective vest – thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Bane’s vest was sponsored by Jeff and Tiffany Zimmerman and Family of RT & T Enterprises of East Dubuque.
Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. was established in 2009 – it’s a 501©(3) whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The group has provided over 4,200 vests to K9s in all 50 states – made possible by donations. A single donation of $960 sponsors one vest.
K9 Bane’s vest was embroidered with the sentiment “Born to Love – Trained to Serve – Love Always”.
If you’d like to support their cause of providing bullet and stab protective vests to K9s, you can make a donation to Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. online at vik9s.org or you can mail a contribution to PO Box 9, East Taunton, MA 02718.
