Regional Medical Center is joining hospitals across the country in celebrating National Nurses Week.
Chief Nursing Officer Heather Ries says nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare – and that’s been especially true this past year as we’ve battled through the pandemic.
Ries says in many cases this past year, nurses have been the only point of personal contact for COVID-19 patients.
Nurses have also been helping to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
There are 140 registered nurses and LPNs employed at RMC, Regional Family Health and Regional Home Care. Ries says the community has been phenomenal with supporting them during the pandemic with donations of food, drinks and face masks. And if you’d like to give a personal note of thanks, you’re invited to do that as well.
National Nurses Week runs through Wednesday, May 12th.
