Patrick John Deutmeyer, 63, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He was born February 15, 1958, in Manchester, the son of Linus and Alvina (Koopmann) Deutmeyer. Pat was raised and lived his entire life on the same farm in Prairie Township. He was a 1976 graduate of West Delaware High School. After graduation Pat worked for short time with his brother-in-law Tom Steffen.
On July 1,1977, Pat was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lila Heims at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greeley. Three children were born to this union. After their marriage, Pat and Lila farmed the Deutmeyer family farm and in the last 15 years Pat also worked part time at Don & Walt.
Pat enjoyed riding four wheelers, Jeep rides, working on projects and quizzing his grandchildren on farm topics. He dearly loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Lila Deutmeyer of Manchester; his three children, Jason (Jen) Deutmeyer of Manchester, Wendy (Chad) Reid of Ryan, and Josh Deutmeyer of Delhi; his nine grandchildren, Vance and Macy Deutmeyer, Colton, Riley and Olivia Reid, Lexi, Landen, Leijhton, and Lainey Deutmeyer; his siblings, James (Barbara) Deutmeyer of Maquoketa, Anna (Dave) Philipp of Greeley, Allen (Coleen) Deutmeyer of Elkader; his in-laws, Ruth and Richard Welch of Pahrump, Nevada; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, Nancy Deutmeyer of Palo, Doris Deutmeyer of Manchester, Tom Steffen of Manchester; Francis Heims of Manchester, Lynn (Doug) Cooper of Manchester, Kevin Heims of Dundee, Marvin (Gina) Heims of Strawberry Point, Bill (Judy) Heims of Edgewood, Lisa (Gary) Stout of St. Charles, Missouri, Lois (Steve) Rippel of Mt. Auburn, Lori (Steve) Bruzek of Cedar Rapids, LuAnn (Jim) Baseman of Cedar Rapids, and Jeff (Annette) Heims of Dundee; Karen Welch of Cedar Rapids, Kevin Welch of Cedar Rapids, Keith (Leila) Welch of Mission Viejo, California, and Kelly (Dave) Waterhouse of Manchester; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pat was preceded in death in by his parents; two brothers, Francis and Richard Deutmeyer; one sister, Margaret (Maggi) Steffen; father-in-law, Gilbert “Bud” Heims; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Heims and Lori Heims, and his good friend, Cecil Downs.
Because of COVID-19, masks are required at the funeral home and at the church.

Rite of Christian Burial outside of Mass: 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Manchester, Iowa, with Deacon David Loecke presiding.
Visitation: 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home.
