Design Phase Underway for West Delaware School Facilities Update

The design process is now underway for West Delaware as they get ready to update their school facilities.

Earlier this year, voters in the district approved a $20 million bond referendum to pay for improvements to the high school, middle school and Lambert elementary buildings.

Superintendent Dr. Kristen Rickey says the school board has been meeting regularly with SiteLogic, the company hired for this project – and they’re also bringing in teachers so they can have some input on their spaces.

West Delaware is also looking into the possibility of solar. Rickey says a board member asked them to take a look at solar power and how it could benefit the school district, so the board heard a presentation from Eagle Point Solar at Monday night’s meeting. She says West Delaware is in the very early stages of investigating it, but calls it an interesting concept.
