Edgewood Pro-Rodeo Days is back this year after missing last year due to the pandemic – and the Edgewood community is ready to welcome everyone back into town.
There are three nights of rodeo action – and it all kicks off tonight with “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night”. Gates open at 6 pm, with the rodeo starting at 8 pm. Tickets at the gate are $20 for adults and $15 for kids. And it’s Kids Night, so all kids get free cowboy hats while supplies last.
Miss Edgewood Maddy Streicher says there are other events going on today too as Rodeo Days gets underway.
Edgewood Pro-Rodeo Days continues Friday with the golf tournament.
And Streicher says Saturday is a busy day in Edgewood with lots of activities, including the Edgewood Pro-Rodeo Days Parade at 2 pm.
This year’s Miss Edgewood candidates include Luka Schulte, Ella Aulwes, Tracy Schaefers, Sophia Wilson and Hailey Rausch. Streicher says she’s sad to see her reign as Miss Edgewood come to an end, but she’s really enjoyed her time representing the community.
And as Miss Edgewood, Streicher will be keeping busy up until the crowning – she’ll be visiting the Edgewood Convelescent Home on Friday and showing Miss Rodeo Iowa and Miss Teen Rodeo Iowa around Edgewood this week too.
Edgewood Pro-Rodeo Days will come to an end on Sunday, with the Firemen’s Breakfast from 8 to noon at the fire station and the Demo Derby at 1 pm at the rodeo grounds.
And be sure to keep it tuned to KMCH throughout the day today – Mike Johnson will be broadcasting live from the rodeo grounds Thursday night from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. And on Saturday, look for Trevor Hunt in our KMCH Cruiser in the Edgewood Rodeo Days Parade, while Rob Edwards broadcasts the parade live on Mix 94.7 KMCH.
