Plans have been announced for this year’s Delaware County Fair Parade.
The parade will be held Monday night, July 12th at 7 pm in Manchester, with this year’s theme “All Star Line Up”. The fair parade will be taking its usual route through town – through the fairgrounds, traveling south on New Street to Union, making the little jog onto North Brewer and continuing south past Central Park, turning left on East Butler and following it past Baum Park, ending at Stiles Street.
Line-up will begin at 5:30 pm that night on Doctor Street, with tractors, semis and large farm equipment lining up on East Acres and Grand Streets.
Parade officials are asking everyone to please limit the throwing of candy during the parade this year – if possible, hand the pieces of candy to kids at the curb. They’re also reminding everyone that water games or toys will not be allowed, alcohol is prohibited, all entries must be in good taste, all traffic laws must be obeyed and all tractor riders need to be seated safely.
And the Manchester Fire Department will again be collecting donation for the MDA, so bring along your spare change and help fill their boots.
The parade is the kickoff to the Delaware County Fair, which runs July 12th through the 18th.
