The Manchester Fire Department raised a record amount of money during their “Fill the Boot” campaign on Monday night.
During the Delaware County Fair parade, firefighters were walking the parade route with boots in hand, asking parade-goers to fill their boots with spare dollars and change – with all the money going to the MDA.
The Manchester Fire Department says they collected over $4,000 dollars during the parade on Monday night – $4,430.24 to be exact. That breaks the previous record of $3,062.59 set during the last fair parade in 2019.
The money raised will help transform the lives of kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle diseases.
