Lt. Governor Adam Gregg was in Manchester on Monday morning.
The Lt. Governor toured XL Specialized Trailers and heard about their plans to expand with the help of an Iowa Economic Development Authority High Quality Jobs Program grant.
The company customizes heavy-haul trailer solutions for customers in North America. Primarily serving commercial and construction markets, the company also serves agricultural, oil and gas, wind and custom markets. XL Specialized Trailers plans to expand their existing facility by 55,000 square feet to allow for additional fabrication, paint, parking and office improvements. The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board awarded this $7.3 million dollar capital investment project tax benefits through the High Quality Jobs program last fall. It’s expected to create 65 jobs at a qualifying wage of $21.43 per hour.
During his visit, Lt. Governor Gregg also met some new welders that XL Specialized Trailers recruited from Texas and Florida.
