The Manchester Camp Courageous Garage Sale is celebrating Christmas in July.
Volunteers Madeline Borrett says after realizing they had so many donated Christmas items, they decided to get into the holiday spirit with their first-ever “Christmas in July” sale – which runs today, tomorrow and Saturday.
It’s been a successful year for the Manchester Camp Courageous Garage Sale – despite the challenges of COVID, which led the sale to shut down for some time last year. But volunteer Marla Schiess says this was the first year the garage sale stayed open through the winter – and they plan to make it a year-round sale from now on.
There are more than 80 volunteers who donate their time to the Manchester Camp Courageous Garage Sale – with most working just a few hours a week. And they can always use more. Schiess says the garage sale has been the camp’s largest fundraiser for years – so they keep busy – and after moving down the street into the former Norby’s store two years ago, the sale has grown even larger.
The proceeds from the Manchester Camp Courageous Garage Sale go to the camp, which serves thousands of campers with special needs every year – so Borrett says the community support means so much.
The “Christmas in July” sale runs today and Friday from 9 to 4 and Saturday from 9 to noon.
