Delhi is now home to a coffee shop.
Roast and Toast opened on Main Street three weeks ago. Owner Nancy Preussner says the idea to open the business started about two years ago.
Nancy’s husband, Greg, is the mayor of Delhi – and she says they wanted to do their best to make Roast and Toast a comfortable place where people can spend some time visiting.
And they have a drive-up window in the alley so you can get in and out. Roast and Toast is open every Monday through Friday morning at 6:30 am and every Saturday and Sunday at 8 am – they close at 2 pm during the week, but every Thursday through Saturday they stay open until 8 pm so that patrons can enjoy a variety of white and red wines, along with a small variety of domestic and Iowa-brewed beers.
Preussner says the response from the public has been great so far, with lots of Delhi patrons stopping in – and people from Manchester and other places out of town visiting too.
And they hope to see everyone at their grand opening this Saturday.
The new meat market and deli next door – Off the Hoof – is expected to open in late September.
