Petersburg will be celebrating its 150th anniversary with a Labor Day weekend concert.
The Petersburg Commercial Club will be hosting a Back Field Country Bash on Sunday, September 5th.
The event will kick off with a parade at 3:30 pm, with 300th Avenue temporarily closed from 3:30 to 4:30 pm that day. Gates to the ball diamond will open at 4 pm, with food and drinks. There will be a bean bag tournament and kids’ pedal tractor pull.
Live music will begin at 5:30 pm as Ellie Mae Millenkamp from Team Blake on “The Voice” takes the stage. Millenkamp has family ties to Petersburg. She’ll be followed by Robert Deitch and the Diehards, who will play from 7 to 9 pm. Deitch is an Iowa native who is a singer/songwriter in Nashville. Fireworks will be lit off at 9 pm, with the live music going until 10 pm.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, with kids 10 and under free. Tickets are available at The Big House, Looks By Lynne, Petersburg Feed Mill and Kurt’s Auto and Tire. Tickets are also available online through Facebook on the “Petersburg Back Field Country Bash” event page.
