A Dubuque County teen took honors in the State Fair Queen contest on Saturday night.
19-year old Hannah Stoner of Dyersville was named third runner-up. She’s the daughter of Heather Clasen and Tim Stoner.
Stoner was crowned the 2021 Dubuque County Fair Queen last year. She, along with other county fair queens from across the state, were among the 101 contestants for the Iowa State Fair Queen.
18-year old McKenna Henrich of Plymouth County was crowned the new Iowa State Fair Queen at Saturday’s coronation ceremony. ShyAnne Brogden of Boone County was named first runner-up and Aubree Driscoll of Jackson County was named second runner-up.
As the third runner-up, Stoner receives a $500 scholarship and a $200 Jordan Creek Mall gift card.
Other contestants from the area included Leah Ries of Delaware County, Courtney Schmitz of Buchanan County, Karli Recker of the Great Jones County Fair, Kira Ingwersen of Linn County, Chezney Priem of Clayton County and Makaela Kime of Fayette County.
