Confederate Railroad Performing at Petersburg’s 150th Anniversary Event

Petersburg will be celebrating 150 years this Labor Day weekend with a concert event they’re calling the “Petersburg Back Field Country Bash”.

The Petersburg Commercial Club is hosting the event at the Petersburg ball diamond on Sunday night. For the past several weeks, they’ve been promoting the concert headliner as Robert Deitch and the Diehards, who play in Nashville – but due to illness, they called on Monday to cancel. Fortunately, Petersburg was able to make a call to get another act booked for Sunday’s concert – and Club Treasurer Dale Boeckenstedt was thrilled to make the announcement on Tuesday morning on KMCH.

The Petersburg Back Field Country Bash will kick off at 3:30 pm Sunday with a parade.

Gates open at 4 pm, with family-friendly activities on the Petersburg ball diamond.

The concerts will kick off at 5:30 pm with EllieMae Millenkamp first taking the stage. EllieMae, who has family ties to the Petersburg area, appeared on the hit TV show “The Voice” with Team Blake in 2019.

And they’ll wrap up the night after fireworks with DJ music from DJ Jakes Jam and Karaoke. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate, with kids 10 and under free. Tickets are available at The Big House, Petersburg Feed Mill, Looks By Lynne and Kurt’s Auto and Tire – or you can purchase them online through the Petersburg Back Field Country Bash Event Facebook page.

You can find more details about the event on our KMCH Community Message Board at kmch.com.
