A Delaware County woman has been inducted in the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
Kelly Jared received the honor during a ceremony at the Iowa State Fair. Jared says 4-H has always been a special part of her life. It began at a young age watching her father serve as a longtime 4-H leader and dedicated assistant at the 4-H and FFA Dairy Show.
Jared continues to stay involved in 4-H by serving on the Delaware County Extension Council and Youth Committee, volunteering at the Delaware County Fair, judging record books and representing Region 12 on the Iowa Extension Council Association Board. She says it’s been important for her to give back through the 4-H program.
And her service and dedication to 4-H have not gone unnoticed. Jared was one of 129 inductees from across the state selected this year for the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame.
The Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame was initiated in 2002 to help commemorate the 100th anniversary of 4-H. You can learn about the previous inductees at iowa4hfoundation.org/.
