Local Schools Awarded Grants from GDCCF

Several schools have been awarded grants from the Greater Delaware County Community Foundation.

Jack Klaus, who serves on the foundation’s committee, says the grants help local schools make it easier for some children to participate in school programs.

The Greater Delaware County Community Foundation recently awarded over $12,000 in School Grants to West Delaware, St. Mary’s, Maquoketa Valley, Ed-Co, North Linn, Western Dubuque and Xavier Elementary.

The amount each school receives is determined by the number of Delaware County students who attend the school and the percentage of students eligible for free or reduced price lunches.

Along with the school grants, the Greater Delaware County Community Foundation also provides scholarships to high school students and adults heading back to school, as well as grants to programs that help the poor and money to Community Services to help residents with discretionary funds.
