A Manchester business will be closing its doors on Friday.
Sarah’s Flowers & Gifts has served the community for the past 17 years. Owner Sarah Taylor says it’s been a good run – even though it wasn’t something she originally set out to do.
Her shop started up in 2004 on the east end of town in Dr. Nolz’s building – and after nine years there, she moved across town to her current location on the west banks of the Maquoketa River. For nearly two decades, she’s offered a full-service flower shop with fresh cut flowers, as well as a gift shop.
But Taylor announced in May that it was time for the store to close, with plans to begin a new chapter in her life.
As she gets ready to close shop on Friday, Taylor says she’ll miss the people she gets to interact with every day – adding that the Manchester community has been a great home for her business.
Sarah’s Flowers & Gifts plans to hold an online auction for all of its remaining furniture, fixtures, coolers and supplies beginning this fall. The building will be going up for sale too.
