The newly-formed Delaware County Suicide Prevention Coalition is making plans to reach out to the community next month.
The Coalition launched in August. Their vision is to create a healthier community by eliminating suicides and connecting community members, especially teens to services available to them.
In October, the Coalition will be hosting free trainings for suicide prevention and promoting brain health. The trainings are open to the public. And thanks to funding through the Delaware County Board of Supervisors and Foundation for the Future of Delaware County, they’re free.
An evening training will be held Monday, October 4th and a lunch training will be held Wednesday, October 6th. More details will be coming soon.
This month – during Suicide Prevention Month – the Coalition is displaying signs and marketing around Delaware County reminding people that everyone has a part to play in suicide prevention. They’re also asking businesses and individuals to put up green ribbons or decorate their storefronts during the month of September.
