Earlville Woman Wraps Up Reign as Iowa’s Dairy Princess Alternate

A college student who grew up in Earlville has wrapped up her reign as Iowa’s Dairy Princess Alternate.

Amber Engelken crowned the new Alternate during the Iowa State Fair last month, with her reign coming to an end September 1st. It culminates a busy few years for her representing the dairy industry.

She says she loved spending this past year traveling the state and promoting the dairy industry.

Engelken just started her sophomore year at Iowa State, where she is studying Dairy Science and Agricultural Communications. She’s also active in the Dairy Science Club.

Engelken spent the past year serving alongside Iowa Dairy Princess Meghan Hettinga of Orange City. You can find photos and videos of their time promoting the dairy industry on the Iowa Dairy Princess Facebook page.
