‘Be A Light’ 5K & Vendor Market
The Be A Light Project, Inc. will host its 3rd Annual ‘Be A Light’ Mental Health Awareness 5K on Saturday, May 9 in Holy Cross.

Participants ages 5 and under may participate free of charge.
Registration is required for all participants ages 6 and older.
Event Schedule:
8:00 – 9:30 AM – Check-In
9:30 AM – Registration Closes
8:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Enjoy the ‘Be A Light’ Market
9:45 AM – Opening Remarks
10:00 AM – Kids Fun Run
Community 5K – Immediately following Kids Run
Check-in begins at 8:00 AM, followed by opening remarks at 9:45 AM. A Kids Fun Run will take place at 10:00 AM, with the community 5K run/walk immediately after, highlighting a beautiful countryside route of what rural life is all about: community, connection, and hard work.
The event will also feature a Market from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM along Main Street, highlighting local crafters, bakers, and small businesses.
This is more than a run. The event includes community resource tables and opportunities, connecting attendees with organizations focused on brain health and everyday wellbeing, and students with the opportunity to connect with peers about volunteering or opening a Be A Light Chapter at their college.
Founded in 2025, The Be A Light Project is an Iowa-based nonprofit working to change how mental health is viewed and discussed—especially in rural communities where connections feel approachable, and support is close to home.
