O.W.L.S. Program
Osborne’s Next Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls (OWLS) program will be on Thursday, August 20th. August’s destination will be a trip to Bixby State Preserve and Ice Cave. Please meet at Osborne Park at 10:30 am to carpool there. Join them as they explore one of Iowa’s most unique parks. Participants will learn what an algific slope is and why Bixby is such a special place as we explore up to the Ice Cave. Participants should bring shoes that can get wet as we cross a small stream to get to the ice cave on the other side.
Join them the 3rd Thursday of each month, March through November, for O.W.L.S. Each month will feature a new destination.
The Osborne Center is located on Highway 13, ten miles north of Strawberry Point or five miles south of Elkader. The center is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm daily, noon-4:00 on Sunday. Please call 563-245-1516 for more information or visit www.claytoncountyconservation.org.
