Delaware County Fair Kicks Off Today

It’s fair week!

The 2022 Delaware County Fair kicks off today. And Fair Manager Jeannie Domeyer says they’ve got a great week planned for you this year.

This year’s Delaware County Fair will feature two grandstand concerts – country star Jake Owen will perform on Thursday night and the “I Love the 90’s” Tour comes to Manchester on Friday night (that throwback show will feature hit songs from six different artists, including Vanilla Ice, Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath, Rob Base, Color Me Badd, Tone Loc and Young MC). Tickets are still available for both concerts.

The Harlem Wizards will play a basketball game with local celebrities on Tuesday night, the Amateur Tough Truck races return on Wednesday night and the Wednesday night Christian concert will feature Cain. The Draft Horse Show returns this weekend in the horse arena. On Saturday, it’s the Fantasy Truck & Tractor Pull, ECI Tractor & Truck Pull and Mini Rods – and the fair wraps up with the Demo Derby on Sunday afternoon.

And the annual fair parade unofficially kicks off the week tonight. Mandy Bieber, who’s been hired to fill Mike Ryan’s position as Delaware County Emergency Management Coordinator, says they’ve decided to move up the start time for the parade to 6 pm, with line-up at 4:30 pm.

This year’s parade route through Manchester will stay pretty much the same – the only change is that the parade will end at Anderson Street due to road construction.

And after tonight’s parade, Domeyer says families are welcome to come to the fairgrounds and enjoy some free inflatables for the kids.

We’ll be covering the Delaware County Fair all this week – with news, photos, live broadcasts and interviews with our 4-H and FFA champions – so keep it tuned to Mix 94.7 KMCH.
