Our KMCH Delaware County Food Bank fundraiser was a huge success!
Thanks to your donations, we raised over $2,300 and collected over five grocery carts filled with food in just eight hours Friday during our live broadcast at the Manchester Fareway.
Food Bank coordinator Doug Robbins says it’s great to see local businesses and organizations helping their cause.
The Food Bank serves three hundred Delaware County residents every month – and they’re preparing for a busy time of year as eight hundred Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets will be going out over the holidays. Non-perishable food items like canned mushrooms, canned pumpkin pie filling and cake mixes are needed for these baskets, but monetary donations help even more because the Food Bank can stretch a dollar by purchasing food at a discounted price through the Regional Food Bank.
Another Food Bank fundraiser is coming up this Thursday night at the Manchester American Legion from 6:30 to 8 pm, in which local artists and musicians will raise donations by contributing their talents for a night of entertainment.
