Dubuque County Woman Crowned Iowa State Fair Queen

A Dubuque County woman was crowned the Iowa State Fair Queen on Saturday night.

19-year old Jacqueline Ehrlich of Holy Cross was chosen from 103 contestants. She is a Beckman Catholic High School graduate.

Other local contestants include Madalynn Burke of Delaware County, Baylee Kleitsch of Buchanan County, Mackenzie Vlazny of Clayton County, Rachel Schmitt of Fayette County, Alexis Costell of Linn County and Shay Stephen of Jones County.

This is the third year in a row – and only the fourth time ever – that a local woman has been named the Iowa State Fair Queen. Ehrlich was crowned by last year’s winner, Amanda Riniker of Winthrop, who represented Buchanan County. And the year before, the winner was Ellen Schlarmann of Monticello, representing the Great Jones County Fair.
