Buchanan County Women Land and Legacy Mental Health Speaker

November 18 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Buchanan County Women Land and Legacy, along with Farm Bureau, the Buchanan County Pork Producers’ Association, and a grant from the Buchanan County Health trust, are excited to bring Jeff Ditzenberger to Independence, Iowa. Over 25 years ago, Ditzenberger tried to commit suicide. Fortunately, his story didn’t end there. Ditzenberger will speak regarding his personal experiences in dealing with mental health concerns related to agriculture and his efforts to help others, specifically in the agricultural community, who may deal with mental and emotional health problems. He currently co-manages and operates 900 acres of corn and soybeans near Argyle, WI. This special event will be held on November 18th at the Buchanan County Fair – 4-H Building in Independance, kicking off with a free meal at 6pm and followed by Ditzenberger speaking at 6:30. The evening will be an opportunity for the area communities to come together to explore stress management in their busy lives. The issues facing agriculture now only add to this stressful lifestyle. Understanding that you are not alone and there are many opportunities available to help cope with it can be lifesaving. If interested, please RSVP to the Buchanan County ISU Extension and Outreach by calling 319-334-7161 or by emailing WLL.Buchanan.women@gmail.com
