Celebrate the New Year with a First Day Hike at Backbone State Park.
Join the staff and Friends Group of Backbone State Park on a free, guided hike on New Year’s Day on Monday, January 1st.
Hikers can meet at 10 am at the Old Office, just East of the East Gate for a one-mile hike led by park staff. Dress accordingly for the weather and an ungroomed trail. The Backbone Friends Group will be providing drinks and cookies!
Participants are encouraged to share their adventures on social media with #FirstDayHikes and #iowastateparks.
