Country Cruisers Car Cruise

August 12

This year's Country Cruisers Car Cruise is Saturday, August 12th. Line-up begins at 2:30 pm at EZ Pickins in Manchester. They'll leave at 5 pm, with the cars traveling throughout northern Delaware County. You can find a link to the route on kmch.com. Casino Queen Poker Run

August 12

The Third Annual Casino Queen Poker Run, benefiting the Clayton County Food Shelf, will be held Saturday, August 12th. Register at Waukon Harley-Davidson from 10 to 11 am. All bikes, cars and trucks welcome, with a $15 donation per person. At 5 pm, food and door prizes will be at the Casino Queen Marquette.

The Manchester Public Library will present LIB-CON 2017 on Saturday, August 12th from 9 am – 3 pm. LIB-CON is a celebration of pop culture and creativity for all ages. Bacon-N-Hops Festival

August 12 @ 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Manchester Chamber will host their annual Bacon-N-Hops Fest on Saturday, August 12th from 5 - 11 pm in downtown Manchester. Full meal and hops samples, live music from Time Machine from 7 to 11 pm, a mini performance from the Motorcycle Trials, and display of cars after the cruise.  Advance tickets $20 and includes commemorative shot glass, full meal, hops samples and band - contact the Chamber for tickets or more info. Youth Mentoring Golf Tourney

August 13

The Youth Mentoring Golf Tournament will be held Sunday, August 13th at Woods Edge Golf Course in Edgewood. Four-person best shot. Check-in at 11:30 am, with shotgun start at 1 pm. Cost $50 per person for 9 holes, cart rental and lunch. Golf, donate, bid in the silent auction or just come get a cupcake that day! Proceeds help Helping Services' Youth Mentoring program.

WD Friends of Music Pancake Breakfast

August 13 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

West Delaware Friends of Music will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, Aug 13th from 7 to 11 am at the Delaware County Community Center. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. Adults $6, Children (6-12) $4 and children 5 and under are free. Serving pancakes, sausage, eggs, coffee, milk and juice. This is a fundraiser for the next music department trip.

Plagman Barn Dance

The Plagman Barn Dance will be held Sunday August 13th. Music by “The Sounds of Nashville” from 12:30 – 4 pm. Admission $6. Sandwiches, pie and ice cream will be available, with serving starting at 11 am. The Country Store will also be open. The Plagman Barn is located at 28384 Garber Rd (C7X) two miles east of Garber.

The Good Neighbor Society's Ice Cream Social will be held Sunday, August 13th. Serving maidrites, potato salad, macaroni salad, chips, fruit, pie, ice cream and beverages in the lower level recreation room from 11:30 am to 1 pm. From 1:30 to 3 pm, they'll serve pie, cake, ice cream and beverages in the upstairs recreation room with entertainment from "Dancin' Country". Country Store will be open from 11:30 to 3, with crafts, produce and baked goods.

Stanley Fire Dept. Ice Cream Social

The Stanley Fire Department's Ice Cream Social will be held at the Stanley Fire Department on Sunday, August 13th from 4:30 - 7 pm.  Meal will be served with either pork loin or ribeye sandwiches or, if you prefer, a brat and hot dog.  Chips and homemade pie will be offered, as well as homemade ice cream and root beer floats. The Beckman Booster Club is presenting the Fall Activities Extravaganza on Friday, Aug. 18th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Events include the Beckman high school football and volleyball scrimmages, marching band, the dance team and the All-State singers with the National Anthem.
