Hauschild Sworn In as Manchester’s Interim Police Chief

Hauschild Interim 4There has been a ‘changing of the guard’ in Manchester… First Sergeant Jim Hauschild was officially sworn in as Manchester’s interim police chief Wednesday morning. Hauschild has served with the Manchester Police Department for the past twenty years. He was appointed two weeks ago by Mayor Milt Kramer to temporarily take over the duties of Police Chief Bruce Trapp, who retired Wednesday after thirty-five years as chief.

As a token of appreciation, the City of Manchester has presented Chief Trapp with three of his service weapons as a keepsake. The weapons include his Smith and Wesson revolver, which was Chief Trapp’s first duty weapon, as well as his semi-automatic Glock 27 and Glock 22 pistols. Chief Trapp wore the guns in his holster while serving the city of Manchester for the past forty years.
