HS Boys Basketball: Postseason begins Monday Night

The High School Boys Basketball season has reached the postseason stage for Class 1A and 2A teams. First round games for a few area coverage schools begin tonight with second round contest taking place Thursday that will involve the rest of the teams who earned first round byes. A featured split 1A/2A doubleheader will come to you from KMCH Sports tonight. In Delhi, the 9-12 Maquoketa Valley Wildcats will host 0-6 Rivermont Collegiate, a private prep school in Bettendorf. Fourth-season head coach Creig Dunlap says he is happy with the way his team was able to play better to finish the regular season:

Coach Dunlap is confident that his squad will be too much for the inexperienced Rivermont team who is fairly new to sanctioned organized basketball. The winner of the game will play North Linn at home on Thursday night:

The second game of our doubleheader will come from Anamosa where the 4-17 Blue Raiders host 4-17 Bellevue. Sports Director Jon Swisher and Bret McNamara will take the air around 8pm.

The 10-11 Monticello Panthers will be in action on the road up in Monona at MFL-MarMac high school playing 6-14 Waukon.
