Cross Country Conference Meet Results

The WaMaC Conference cross country meet was held in Vinton yesterday. On the boys side, Mount Vernon-Lisbon placed first with 56 points, Western Dubuque was 6th with 154, West Delaware 9th, Anamosa 10th, Independence 13th and Beckman 16th. Western Dubuque sophomore Kale Cartee placed 8th with a 17:00. Anamosa senior Pierce Fairbanks was 20th running a 17:32. West Delaware was led by senior Noah Crumpton with a 17:55.

The girl’s race was won by Benton Community with 88 points, Anamosa was 4th with 98, Western Dubuque 7th, 12th was West Delaware, Independence 13th, and Beckman 15th. Anamosa senior Emma Duncan finished 4th with a 20:04, Western Dubuque freshmen Lauren Klein was 10th with a 20:19. West Delaware was guided by senior Abby Loecke who finished 38th with a 21:34.

Tri-Rivers Girls meet was won by Bellevue Marquette.  North Linn came in 2nd; Ed-Co was 5th. North Linn’s Hannah Bridgewater came in 4th.  On the boy’s side, Jacob Wessel of Ed-Co took the top spot with a time of 16:59.  North Linn’s Seth Boss came in 4th; Chance Downs and Brendan Hogan came in 7th and 8th for Maquoketa Valley.  Team-wise the meet was won by Calamus-Wheatland, just 4 points better than 2nd place Maquoketa Valley.  North Linn came in 3rd, Ed-Co was 9th and East Buchanan 10th.

At the Upper Iowa Girls Conference meet in Luana, Elkader Central took 3rd; Starmont finished 5th.   Bianca Malone led Starmont with a 9th place finish.  On the boy’s side Starmont took second.  The Stars were led by Mitchell Hayes who took 3rd overall.  Central came in 5th.

The Monticello Girls took 2nd at the River Valley meet at Iowa City.  Cascade came in 2nd. Monticello’s Page Holub took 3rd individually.  In the boy’s meet Monticello took 5th and Cascade was 10th.  Aaron Loes led the Panthers with an 18th place finish.
